l'EIXABEGÓ
History of the festival
"L'Eixabegó" cellebration takes place on Carnival and the aim is to be masked with flour to the people going down the street, so it is also known as the Feast of flouring. It is a festival that is also celebrated in other towns as Ibi (l'Alcoià) and Bèlgida (Vall d'Albaida), although there are some differences in the development of the party. Its objective was to raise money for military service, if they found a neighbor that did not help, they rose him into the air with a "eixabegó" or network and covered him with flour. Today the party is moved to Saturday of Carnival. The Quintos go out at 7 in the morning to shoot rockets. Then they stop for lunch and continue the party until 12, when the Quintos do Volund collection, accompanied by the Unió Musical de Planes. At noon the party ended with a popular food. It is certainly a unique event that must be protected so that each year more people involved.
